I am a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in hematology and oncology. I practice at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center and Pasadena Medical Offices, where I strive to provide high-quality care to members. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that use the latest medical advancements.

 

Biography

 

I am a native of Colombia in South America. My journey in medicine began at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and led me to the United States, where I pursued further training in hematology and oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.
 

About my practice

 

My Cancer Subspecialty Focus

My primary focus is malignant hematology, and I provide regional expertise in this field. As a key member of the multidisciplinary Malignant Hematology Tumor Board, I help develop and refine treatment strategies for complex hematologic malignancies.

 

National Expertise on Multidisciplinary Teams

As a member of the Southern California Regional Subspecialty Malignant Hematology Committee, I contribute to the analysis of emerging therapeutics. My work has been instrumental in shaping the National Kaiser Permanente Oncology Care Pathways, ensuring that members benefit from treatments based on evidence and current research.

 

Research and Clinical Trials

I am a proud member of several prestigious oncology research groups and the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Program. I am a sub-investigator in:

  • SWOG Cancer Research Network
  • National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP)
  • Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology
  • NRG Oncology 

My research involvement includes collaboration with these leading oncology research groups. My work aims to advance cancer treatment options and improve member outcomes.

 

How I thrive

 

Outside of my medical practice, I enjoy an active lifestyle. I find balance and relaxation in swimming, playing tennis, traveling, gardening, and reading. These activities help me stay refreshed and energized, allowing me to provide high-quality care for members.
