About Me

Welcome! I am glad to have the opportunity to share information about myself. I am a stroke neurologist and a physician scientist.

Biography

I take pride in my Persian culture and heritage. I left Iran when I was 8 years old and continued to migrate west, settling down in London, Texas, and eventually Southern California, where I grew up and completed my education.

About my practice

I received my MD and PhD degrees in cerebrovascular pharmacology from UC Irvine. I continued my medical training at Harvard Medical School, where I completed a medical internship, neurology residency, and vascular neurology (stroke) fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. I am double board certified in general neurology and vascular neurology. My clinical interests include prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, neurorehabilitation, telestroke, and pregnancy-related and gender differences in stroke.

How I thrive

Staying healthy in our busy lives can be challenging, but if we balance our professional, personal, and family responsibilities and remember to take care of ourselves, then we can live well and care for our loved ones and impact their lives. Healthy nutrition, preventive care, and nurturing the soul can provide guidance and purpose and help us in our daily lives!
