About Me

Greetings, I am Dr. Toosi. I work as a hospitalist for Kaiser Permanente here at the Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley Medical Offices. Hospitalists are a unique breed of medical detectives who diagnose problems of hospitalized patients and develop a treatment plan to help them regain their health and mobility. It is challenging work that I enjoy greatly.

Biography

I come from a family of physicians. My oldest brother is an oncologist in Iran, while another brother is a cardiologist here in America. I went to medical school in Mashhad, Iran, and served four years as a resident there. Then I became a general practitioner in a rural area of my homeland. I immigrated to the United States to further my education and professional experience. My first year in America was spent in Atlanta, Georgia, where I did medical research at Emory University. When I was accepted into the intern program at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, my wife and I moved to New York. During my internship and residency at Coney Island, I gained new insights into internal medicine and became familiar with the remarkable technology available to assist physicians at most American hospitals. In 2011, my wife and I pulled up roots again and traveled to California to be closer to family and friends.

About my practice

Being a hospitalist is challenging, but I try to keep it simple. I always make myself available to members, often giving them my personal phone number so they can call with questions. I bring your best behavior to the bedside so I can determine how best to meet their needs. And I let members and their families gain trust in me by telling them what their options are so they can choose the best route to better health and happiness.

How I thrive

Tennis is my passion, but with two small children and a busy practice, I don’t get to play as often as I’d like. So I settle for a quick trip to the gym and an evening with my family. Occasionally you’ll find us on a day trip to one of Southern California’s many adventures. Perhaps when the kids are older, well be able venture a little further from home. I love road trips and would enjoy taking more of them.
