About Me

Welcome to my Web page! I am happy to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel fortunate to work for Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center and am looking forward to meeting you.

Biography

I was born in in the Philippines, where my parents were serving as medical missionaries. I grew up in the Redlands/Loma Linda area where I completed medical school. After medical residency in Salt Lake City and a gastroenterology fellowship in Sacramento, I returned to Southern California so my wife and I could be closer to our families. I joined my father in practicing gastroenterology at a local academic center. Recently after his retirement I joined Kaiser Permanente in Riverside.

About my practice

I believe that caring for each patient is both a great privilege and responsibility. I enjoy the practice of both general gastroenterology and performing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. During my 13 years of academic practice, I had time to further develop my interest in inflammatory bowel disease, and hope to apply what I learned to the care of Crohn's disease and colitis patients at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center. My goal is first to keep you healthy, but if you do become ill, to work with you to manage your illness and return you to health as quickly as possible.

How I thrive

I enjoy reading, especially science fiction and travel books. I love spending time at the beach and paddling my ocean kayak. I have two children, and set aside time each week in my busy schedule just to be with my wife, children, and extended family. A new addition to our family is our 93-pound puppy, who is motivating me to go on a daily walk.
