About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I have been practicing psychiatry for more than 30 years and have been a partner with Kaiser Permanente for more than 25 years. I am bilingual and bicultural. I focus on holistic healing of body, mind and soul.

Biography

I knew in high school that I wanted to become a physician. My major in college at UCLA was biochemistry, and my subspecialty now is psychopharmacology. In medical school, initially I believed I would go into family practice medicine. However, I found my love for psychiatry during my first rotation in this specialty. My favorite hobby is the study of Eastern religions and the practice of yoga. I have been involved in yoga for more than 40 years. I like to combine the best of the East with the best of the West in philosophy. I was born and raised in Southern California. I enjoy traveling, riding my bike, hiking the hills of Palos Verdes with my dog Kaivalya (Kava) and reading inspiring biographies.

About my practice

I love what I do. I work with a team of professionals with the goal of increasing the happiness of each patient. It is deeply gratifying to see the emotional and spiritual progress of each of my patients as they make the effort to understand their lives. It's rewarding to help my patients incorporate tools that can create opportunities and uplift their spirits and live their best life. I am in the pursuit of perfection for myself!

How I thrive

I stay well by first of all staying grateful and positive about each experience in my life. I create a consciousness that is aware of the beauty of each moment, and I take advantage of each opportunity that presents itself. I stay connected to my spiritual sources through prayer and affirmation. For exercise, I practice Bikram yoga, walk, ride my bike, and kayak. I see Spirit in all.
