About Me

I am a Colorado native and have spent most of my life enjoying our amazing mountains hiking. I did graduate work in Neurobiology, taught science in a small village in Kenya before completing Medical School and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

About my practice

I am passionate about being a primary care physician and my practice generally focuses on patients over 65. I love the opportunity to participate in all aspects of my patient's care. I am very detailed oriented, I like to do as much as I can in a visit, and I like to laugh with my patients. I enjoy working with families and patients to establish care plans that optimize their quality of life and supports their values. I enjoy teaching and sharing medical knowledge with my patients. I want to make sure they have the knowledge and tools to make the best medical decisions for themselves. The relationships that I have with my patients are the most important part of my job as a physician. Health care is often very complex - requiring an understanding of the physical, social, emotional and spiritual causes for suffering. I believe a primary care physician is there to take that journey with their patients.

How I thrive

I appreciate the opportunity to travel and have particularly enjoyed medical mission trips with other Kaiser Permanente physicians to care for patients in rural Zambia. When not working, I enjoy hiking, snow shoeing with my family and dog (who is always willing to go as far as I want) and mountain biking.
