About Me

I was born and raised in Guam and moved to Hawaii in 1998 to attend the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. I joined the U.S. Navy as a General Medical Officer and completed my residency training at Camp Pendleton, California in 2008. I then separated from the military in 2010 and moved back to Hawaii to settle down with my family. My husband is a pediatrician in a group practice and we have a beautiful daughter together.

About my practice

I was inspired by two physicians on Guam, our family pediatrician and a local plastic surgeon. Both came from humble beginnings and did amazing things for their patients and the community. During my medical training I was motivated to pursue family medicine when I had a chance to care for new families. I love seeing all kinds of cases and enjoy every opportunity to provide continuous, lifelong care to a family.

There's a great sense of camaraderie among the physicians and staff of Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. It's always easy to reach a specialist, and when I have a case that requires help, my colleagues are continually supportive and helpful. I also appreciate the technological innovation that Kaiser Permanente uses in patient care. Our electronic medical records make it much easier for me to do my job.

I strongly believe in prevention and have become a health advocate for cervical cancer screening and breast cancer screening. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and I've made it a personal mission to help young women understand the importance of having regular preventive exams. I strive for regular, supportive communication with my patients and partner with them to establish goals for improving their health.During my time in the service, I held several leadership roles and was able to practice the full scope of family medicine, which helped to strengthen my clinical skills.

How I thrive

I keep healthy by eating right and exercising regularly. I seek to keep a good balance between work and family life. My family is a big boost to my mood. My husband is supportive in all that I do and my daughter’s smile keeps me motivated all day long. Together, we enjoy outdoor fun at our state parks and beaches and love combing for new books at the library or bookstore. I also enjoy singing and love to travel when I can.
