About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am very happy to have this opportunity to tell you that I enjoy working in geriatrics at Kaiser Permanente. I work with an excellent and dedicated team of physicians, case managers, nurse practitioners, support staff, and volunteers. I believe that our senior members need a lot of care and support.

Biography

I was born in Paraguay, South America, and I am fluent in Spanish. My grandparents were immigrants from Germany. Since I was a little girl, I remember telling my parents that I was going to become a doctor to take care of them. My father passed away when I was just 13, so my desire to become a doctor was stronger after he died. Today, I see my parents in each one of my patients.

About my practice

Geriatric services are delivered in the clinic, nursing home, and in the home of patients with hospice care. In the clinic, I see patients at the request of other physicians to address dementia, depression, falls, behavioral problems, failure to thrive, management of medications in the elderly, and many other issues concerning elderly patients. After seeing me, patients return to the care of their primary care providers with my evaluation and recommendations. In the nursing home, my team oversees the care of patients who need further medical care or rehabilitation due to decline in function after acute medical changes. Our team also oversees the medical care of custodial patients residing in nursing home.

How I thrive

I work hard to keep a balance between my family and my work. I have a wonderful and supportive husband who helps me with my two children. I enjoy going to work every day because my team excels in medical knowledge and patient care. I go back home every day without any stress, which gives me the opportunity to enjoy my family.
