About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I have been a physician with Kaiser since 1984 and after a short period of time in the clinic, have been solely hospital based. I chose to practice with an HMO as I prefer to focus on medicine and not the business of running a medical office.

Biography

I was raised in the Northeast U.S. but came to California for the better weather and cosmopolitan environment. I chose to become a physician as I am fascinated by science in general as well as the science of medicine in particular. It is not just what I do but the way I live. As Carl Sagan said: "Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge."

About my practice

My practice is entirely in the hospital; I prefer the intensity of care involved. My work philosophy can be summed up in two quotes from Hippocrates: "Make a habit of two things: to help; or at least to do no harm," and "Science is the father of knowledge."

How I thrive

When I am not at work I spend time with my family. I get some time to read philosophy, history or science and allot a few hours a week to exercise at the gym.
