About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I am so honored to be a psychiatrist for Kaiser Permanente in Orange County. I grew up in Tustin and feel blessed to practice medicine where I established my roots.
Biography
I grew up in Orange County when this area still had acres of oranges. In fact, my little league field was next to orange groves; it is now the city of Tustin Ranch. My parents are originally from the mining town of Butte, Montana. My inspiration to become a doctor came from my grandfather, who was the son of Irish immigrants. He practiced medicine originally in Butte and later for the student clinic at Oregon State University. I attended medical school at UC Irvine and trained in psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
About my practice
Although the scope of my practice today mostly utilizes psychopharmacology, I remain a strong proponent of therapy. Our Behavioral Health Department provides different therapy methods, including individual therapy and group therapy. Currently our department is implementing the use of telepsychiatry to improve communication with our respective patients.
How I thrive
Quality of life stems from three key components: work, love, and play. I strive to have a life that balances all of these elements. My Christian faith encourages me to serve beyond my clinical practice. I currently serve as a student mentor at my church and support an international organization to help end human trafficking.
