About Me

I am a board-certified radiation oncologist. I practice at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center, focusing on the multidisciplinary treatment of cancers of the head and neck, breast, prostate, and lung. I also completed my residency in radiation oncology at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles.

Biography

I earned my degree in microbiology and molecular genetics from UCLA. I went on to attend medical school at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

Caring for individuals with cancer is both my calling and my passion. I am deeply committed to delivering compassionate care based on evidence and current research. One guiding principle I live by is: “Patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” This belief shapes every interaction I have with members.

About my practice

My Cancer Subspecialty

My practice at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center focuses on the multidisciplinary treatment of head and neck, breast, prostate, and lung cancers. While these are my main areas of expertise, I also treat a wide range of other cancers, including lymphomas, gastrointestinal tumors (such as esophageal or pancreatic cancers), central nervous system cancers, and sarcomas.

As a general radiation oncologist, I work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure each member receives care tailored to their unique diagnosis.

National Expertise on Multidisciplinary Teams

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a regional expert for our Southern California Head and Neck Tumor Board, where I collaborate with colleagues across specialties to plan the best treatment for complex cases. I also contribute to the Southern California Regional Head and Neck Cancer Committee, where we've helped evaluate new treatment strategies and introduce them into Kaiser Permanente’s National Oncology Care Pathways.

Working with these teams allows me to bring leading-edge, team-based care directly to members.

Research and Clinical Trials

I’m actively involved in cancer research as a sub-investigator through the National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program. I participate in national clinical trials as a member of research groups such as:

  • SWOG Cancer Research Network
  • NSABP (National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project)
  • Alliance
  • NRG Oncology

This work helps bring tomorrow’s treatments to members today. I incorporate what we learn from clinical trials directly into my practice whenever appropriate, so members can benefit from the latest medical advances.

How I thrive

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I love to travel, and I’m a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. When I need a laugh, my go-to show is still Seinfeld — a classic!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey through cancer care.
