About Me

I grew up in the foothills of the Front Range in Colorado. I later went to San Antonio, Texas, where I obtained my medical degree from the University of Texas. Since my heart always remained in Colorado, I returned upon completing medical school for my residency through the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I have been in practice since 2007. My husband and I started our family that same year and we now have two beautiful and spirited daughters (the first joined our family biologically and the second through international adoption). As a family, we enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and cycling, as well as maintaining an active spiritual life.

About my practice

I was attracted to the field of head and neck surgery while in medical school. I love the detailed and demanding surgical work that comes with one of the most intricate areas in the body. I love interacting with patients, and my specialty typically allows me to improve the quality of life for many of those patients. I believe in a holistic, broad approach to medical illness and overall well-being. I realize that despite our current scientific advances, we still do not have all the answers and I strive to find solutions together with my patients that work within their current lifestyle or the vision of life that they are striving to achieve. My practice is well-rounded and I treat most conditions in my specialty. I specifically enjoy endocrine surgery, as well as pediatric patients and surgery. I chose to practice at Kaiser Permanente because it provides state-of-the-art support and equipment while adhering to a philosophy that allows me to focus all my attention on the care of my patients in a setting that encourages health and wellness for its members and staff.

How I thrive

I believe that thriving starts with attitude and disposition and is nurtured through hard work, a spiritual belief that is larger than oneself, and caring for the body and its true physical needs. My kids are my perfect example of how to live life and I strive to be more like them. I also enjoy physical and outdoor activities, healthy foods, art and sculpture, and I always appreciate a good night's sleep!
