About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m Dr. Jason P. Richards—an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician.

Biography

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful children.

About my practice

I attended medical school at Ohio State University, and then completed my five years of orthopedic surgery residency in San Antonio, Texas. I then completed a sports medicine fellowship here at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County. Upon completion of my fellowship, I started a private practice in Idaho, but I was ultimately recruited to join my mentors here at Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy treating sports-related injuries in both the young and the seasoned athlete. My main areas of interest are shoulder and knee arthroscopy, as well as shoulder replacement surgeries.

How I thrive

I maintain an active lifestyle. I try to get to the gym on a regular basis, and my hobbies include wakeboarding, mountain biking, stand up paddle board surfing, fly fishing, snow boarding, and cooking barbecue on my ceramic smokers.
