About Me

I grew up in Bloomington, Illinois and aspired to be a doctor since elementary school. As a girl, I also dreamed of going "out West" and was fortunate to fulfill both dreams when I moved to Portland for my medical residency. I love the beautiful Pacific Northwest and enjoy exploring all that Oregon has to offer.

About my practice

As a hospitalist, I enjoy working in collaboration with specialists, nurses, respiratory, speech and physical therapists in caring for acutely ill patients. The hospital is a stimulating environment to not only provide individualized care, but to constantly improve the quality of care for everyone entering the hospital. In my role as the Medical Director of the Regional Ethics Service for Kaiser Permanente Northwest, I work with a multidisciplinary team of consultants to help patients, their families and the staff at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center deliberate ethical issues.

How I thrive

I relax and rejuvenate by tending my vegetable garden, and I'm always trying out new recipes to use what I grow or what I find at local farmer's markets. I smile to see my son happily eat his peas straight from the garden as I did growing up in Illinois.
