About Me

Why would you give up surfing for medicine? This is a question I was frequently asked when I decided to forgo my professional surfing career to become a physician. My decision to become a pediatrician has served me well, and I cannot think of a more fulfilling career for me. Thank you for visiting my Web page. I am grateful to share with you a little about who I am and how I find fulfillment in my life.

Biography

My father served 22 years in the United States Air Force, and I was fortunate that his last assignment placed my family in Huntington Beach. I always loved to swim in the ocean, and standing up on my boogie board progressed to surfing within a couple of years. I had great success as an amateur surfer during high school, and I was fortunate enough to travel to surfing competitions in Australia, Bali, Japan, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Canada, Florida, Texas, and Hawaii. After high school, I traveled for four years on The Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour and expanded my travel horizons to include England, France, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Mauritius Island, and Brazil. I then made the commitment to become a physician. Now that I am a physician, wife, and mother of two children, my time in the ocean is limited, so I am thankful that my children have an affinity for the ocean and hope they learn to surf, too.

About my practice

I enjoy working with families to achieve the best overall health for their precious children.

How I thrive

I thrive by spending time with my family, surfing, and going for walks with my husband.
