About Me
Hello and welcome to my Web page! My name is Dr. Jong Davis, and I specialize in gastroenterology in the Internal Medicine Department. I look forward to meeting new patients as I continue to serve my current patients. I am happy to have this chance to provide both professional and personal information about myself so that you can get to know me better.
Biography
As you may have guessed by looking at my name, I am a mixture of ethnicities-my mother is Korean and father American. I came to America at the age of 12. My mother struggled with her health while I was still young and I noticed that the language barrier played a significant role during her visits to the doctor. This experience furthered my commitment in becoming a physician and gives me a deep understanding of the importance of communication between patients and physicians. After I completed my studies in Detroit, I was offered a position in Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles, but I moved to the South instead and joined Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta. (Not many people in California know that there is a Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta.) After spending several years in Atlanta, I decided that my true calling was in sunny California...so I packed my bags and moved to Los Angeles. I am very happy and proud to be on the team here at the Woodland Hills Medical Center and look forward to serving the patients in our community.
About my practice
In my medical specialty, gastroenterology, diet and lifestyle play an important role. In our busy world, we sometimes neglect some of the basic needs of the body such as a good healthy diet and stress-reducing behaviors. I look forward to sharing some of these ideas with you during our visits.
How I thrive
I firmly believe that it's important to take the initiative and begin to take charge of our bodies and our health. I started out by joining the local gym and eating more healthfully. I participated in 10K runs back in Atlanta and now look forward to doing the same here in Los Angeles.
