About Me

Thank you for visiting my Web page. This is a great way for you to learn something about my department and me.

Biography

I grew up in Opp—a town of 7,000 in Alabama. I've known I wanted to be a physician since the third grade. My specialty has changed over the years but not my ultimate goal. I feel so fortunate to have chosen a career that is very fulfilling, and continues to pique my interest.

About my practice

I joined the physicians at Kaiser Permanente in 1985, after finishing my fellowship training. In 1987, I left Kaiser Permanente for private practice but returned after three years. For me Kaiser Permanente offered the best practice opportunities. A practice where our primary concern is the best interest of the member.

How I thrive

Preventive medicine is important for members as well as physicians. As a physician who enjoys her job, I try to balance my work with a healthy lifestyle that includes daily aerobic exercise—which is good for the longevity of both the body and the mind. I also have an interest in native plant gardening, my Siamese cat, and reading nonfiction.
