About Me

Hello and welcome to my Web page! I'm delighted to share information about myself. I was previously a primary care physician in La Mesa. Since 2004, I have been a hospital-based practitioner, working mainly at Zion hospital, as well as at Palomar and Sharp Mesa Vista Hospitals. I enjoy the challenge of hospital-based medicine.

Biography

I was born, raised, and educated in Honolulu, Hawaii, although my parents are from India. My father was a professor at the University of Hawaii Medical School and my grandfather was a physician in India − so I have always wanted to be a doctor. I moved to Los Angeles to do my residency and then moved to San Diego to start working with Kaiser Permanente. My husband is from San Diego, and we love it here. I enjoy going to the beach with my family, hiking, and traveling. We are also busy with several Indian cultural activities.

About my practice

I became a hospital-based physician about 10 years ago, and I love it. I enjoy helping members and their loved ones during their time of need − when they are the most sick. While the intensity of the work is high, so is the satisfaction. In 2010 I did a sabbatical and became board certified in hospice and palliative care medicine, skills which I use daily in my practice.

How I thrive

I love to socialize and talk to people, which I do at work both with members, colleagues, and the staff. Outside of work, I am quite busy with my kids, their activities, and their friends. I thrive when I am surrounded by people. I am a vegetarian for religious reasons. I love to laugh and be with family and friends. I also enjoy hiking, going to the beach, going to exercise class with friends, and traveling. I am active with our religious organization.
