About Me

Welcome to my Kaiser Permanente Web page. I'm glad to have the opportunity to tell you about myself.

Biography

I am a native Southern Californian, born and raised in Whittier. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of California at San Diego. I attended medical school at The Chicago Medical School. I completed my residency in emergency medicine at LAC + USC Medical Center. I subsequently worked in another community emergency department in Orange County for eight years before joining Kaiser Permanente full time. My wife, who is also a physician, and I married in 1997 and we have three wonderful children.

About my practice

I consider it a privilege not only to work for Kaiser Permanente, but also to be given the responsibility to care for you or your family member in the Emergency Department. The success of this care is dependent on a dedicated and motivated team of physicians, nurses, technicians, and clerks who strive to provide high-quality care in the most compassionate manner possible. The camaraderie of this team helps to promptly address your health concerns in the emergency department.

How I thrive

Since the Emergency Department is often a challenging and stressful environment in which to work, I believe a balance with life away from work is extremely important. I achieve this by spending as much quality time as possible with my wife and children (and our Labradoodle). I take pride in volunteering in my children's classrooms in addition to coaching their soccer teams. I enjoy playing soccer, water skiing, jogging and cycling on the trails, and getting together with close friends for some quality food and drink.
