About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I'm Dr. Tom Cunningham. As an emergency department physician, I hope I don’t see you at work, but if you need emergency care you will be treated with compassion and respect. It's truly a privilege to serve Panorama City and its surrounding communities.

Biography

I was originally born in San Diego but grew up mostly in the Midwest. After planning to work in foreign policy, I obtained a degree in International Studies with East Asian Emphasis at the University of Iowa. Eventually my love for science and people led me to medicine. I received my medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina, and completed residency training in emergency medicine at The University of Michigan - St. Joseph Mercy program, where I was lucky to serve as chief resident in my final year. Ultimately I was drawn back to Southern California to be near family who are scattered around Los Angeles Orange County, and San Diego.

About my practice

Emergency medicine is truly a team sport. Quality emergency care relies on every member of our team. I love our ED family at Panorama City!

How I thrive

I credit most of my wellness to my nine-year-old black lab mix, Darla. On days off I like to hike and explore with the trusty old dog. I also enjoy relaxing with family and friends, water sports, food, and craft beer.
