About Me
I am a board-certified surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. I earned my bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Texas A&M University before moving to Colorado in 2001. I worked as a paramedic before attending medical school at the University of Colorado, and then underwent general surgical residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2013 and currently practice at the Lone Tree Medical Offices, Sky Ridge Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital. I am honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2022 and was also honored there in 2020.
About my practice
I look forward to seeing my patients and enjoy getting to know you. I respect you as a partner in maintaining your health, so I’ll listen to understand your concerns and make a treatment plan that meets your needs. I have expertise in minimally invasive robotic surgeries, including Nissen fundoplications (for acid reflux), paraesophageal hernia repairs, colon resections and complex hernia repairs. I am one of the highest volume thoracic surgeons in the state of Colorado. I am currently in the process of publishing a revolutionary new surgical lung technique that allows me to remove much smaller lung nodules and cure lung cancer earlier than at other centers in the country. I am also a general surgeon and perform a variety of other surgeries including gallbladder removal, appendectomies, hernia repairs and colorectal surgery.
How I thrive
Outside of work, I am a dedicated father to 2 boys. I am a state championship winning cyclist and currently compete at a national level in road and cyclocross races.
