Biography

I was born at Kaiser Permanente hospital in Panorama City, so I have seen all the wonderful changes Kaiser Permanente has gone through in the past 40 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Spanish and my master's degree in agriculture. Not quite the usual route to medicine, as I thought I'd be wearing a white coat breeding barley. Life can be very unpredictable. I earned my medical degree from UC Davis and completed my residency training at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. From there, to keep life interesting I joined the U.S. Army, where I was a physician in Germany, Italy, and Iraq. Finally I returned to California to be with my parents and my sister - all of whom are transplants to Torrance, along with me.

About my practice

In any organization, it's all about teamwork and communication. My goals are to work closely with my staff to give you quality care and to keep you informed about the best health choices for you. My nurse will work closely with you as well, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, to help me ensure that all your concerns are addressed.

How I thrive

To relax, once in a while I just need to take the 50,000-foot view that is, back up, take a deep breath, and look at everything in perspective. I do this to remember what is important and why I am doing the things I am. A nice walk does wonders to clear my mind; I have been running 2-3 miles a day since I got out of the army and this habit has served me well! My hobbies include camping and hiking. I also love television comedy, such as The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. History is also a hobby of mine, as it can also prove quite comical.
