About Me
I grew up in Southern California, completed my undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University and have lived in the Northwest since 1991. I completed my graduate school at the University of Washington, earning a Master’s in Social Work. I'm licensed in Oregon as a Clinical Social Worker. I've worked in various settings including Community Mental Health, Crisis services, and centers for homeless and at-risk youth and adults. I have had the good fortune to work in the Mental Health Department of Kaiser Permanente since 2006.
About my practice
My approach to practice is based on a strengths based understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and acceptance skills. I use Interpersonal Neurobiology as a lens through which to view my clients as well. I enjoy working with an array of members and diagnoses and try to be adaptive and flexible in meeting members where they are in the process of healing and change.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my family and dear friends who give me support and keep me grounded. I enjoy being outdoors hiking, biking, and camping. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling, and dining in great Portland restaurants.
