About Me

Following high school, I lived throughout the United States for various parts of my education and training. Most recently, I was in private practice in the Los Angeles area. I love to travel, which is probably why I have lived in so many different places! I decided to return home to Georgia after being away for 18 years. It has been great to come back to my roots in Atlanta! I have enjoyed reconnecting with my family and becoming reacquainted with a city that has changed so much over the years.

About my practice

I consider it a privilege to be an oncologist. I realized very early on that this was what I wanted to do. I was drawn to it by its complexity at both the scientific and clinical level. As a biochemistry major in college, I studied the details of the numerous molecular pathways that can lead to cancer. As a physician-in-training, I found that taking care of cancer patients is rewarding personally as well as intellectually. Courage and an appreciation for life are the two major lessons my patients have taught me. Moreover, over the past several years, there has been an exponential rise in the number of cancer treatments available and, as a result, so much hope for patients battling their disease. As a part of the Kaiser Permanente Oncology Department, I plan to work on setting up oncology clinical trials so that our members have even more treatment options. I would also like to expand tumor-specific multidisciplinary clinics and conferences so that our members can receive more integrated cancer care.

How I thrive

I strive to find a balance between my professional and personal life. I love all kinds of music (rock, Bollywood, alternative, 80s). I also love exploring different cultures, and I try to take one international trip every year. Exercising is an important part of my routine, and I plan to run a marathon in the near future. Spending time with family and friends, by far, is the most enriching part of my life.
