Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have this opportunity to introduce myself and my practice. I was in private practice for over 15 years prior to joining the Kaiser Permanente family, so I have a unique perspective of the Kaiser Permanente system. I feel very fortunate to work every day with an excellent group of staff and colleagues.
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam. My family came to the United States in 1975, when I was 12 years old. I spent most of my time since in Southern California, except for the four years of medical school at UC Davis in Sacramento. I did my undergraduate at UC Irvine (graduated summa cum laude) and also my anesthesia residency at UC Irvine in 1992. My father, unfortunately, died of cancer at a very early age. After that, I decided that I wanted to go into the medical field, where I could help patients dealing with their illnesses like the medical professionals who had looked after my father. So far, I have been very happy with my career choice and would not dream of doing anything else. I am blessed with a wonderful and beautiful wife and three children. I love to spend my free time playing tennis, gardening, and vacationing in Hawaii with friends and relatives.
I work as part of an anesthesia team at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, which includes certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and MDs. We work hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you in the operating room. We have advanced anesthetic equipment and technologies. Our staff is expected to keep up with the latest information and techniques available.
I feel everyone can enhance their well-being. Exercising regularly; eating healthy food; maintaining a stable, healthy weight; not smoking; avoiding excessive drinking; getting enough rest and vacation; and developing stable relationships with family and friends are all things we can do to stay healthy, since we cannot change the genetic makeup that we inherited from our parents.
