About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to let you know who I am and why I am proud to work in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente. Our organization has won a number of national awards related to quality and service. I feel that our members are the true winners of the hard work that we have put into striving to be the best.

Biography

I am from South Dakota and chose to become a physician so that I can make people's lives better. My undergraduate degree was in mechanical engineering, and I went to medical school at the University of South Dakota. I completed my family medicine residency in Indiana and worked as a physician in a small town in South Dakota for seven years before joining Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, gardening, and raising fruit trees in my backyard.

About my practice

My nurse and I work as a team to provide care for our members. We wish to be your partners in working toward your best possible overall health. We provide the latest science evidence-based health care for when you are ill and provide guidance on how to improve your health when you are well. Hippocrates, the ancient Greek father of medicine, said, "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food." I am amazed how many people with chronic diseases have been able to get off medications by eating a healthy diet. I am happy to share my understanding of healthy eating. Increased energy and a sense of well-being are additional benefits of highly nutritious food.

How I thrive

I thrive by eating highly nutritious foods and spend at least 30 minutes five days each week exercising. When the weather is nice, I prefer to walk in my neighborhood with my wife. On rainy days, I exercise on a treadmill. Relaxing with family and gardening keep balance in my life.
