About Me

I was born in Seoul, Korea. My family moved to the United States when I was seven, and I grew up primarily in Indiana.I chose to come to Hawaii for the cultural diversity, friendliness of people, family-oriented culture, warm weather, and great lifestyle.

About my practice

Both of my parents were in the medical field, so it seemed to be a natural choice for me. As a physician, I wanted to participate in volunteer work and provide care that would immediately and dramatically change the lives of those in need. After considering various possibilities, I chose to specialize in orthopedics, which is a field I found interesting and enjoyable. It turned out to be a perfect fit. The Hawaii Permanente Medical Group is a wonderful place to work. My colleagues are friendly and collegial, and I find the working environment is fair and based on equality.I also enjoy talking to my patients and believe in treating them as if they were my family. In reliving the daily experiences of their lives, I put myself in their position and this helps me provide individualized care for each of my patients.

How I thrive

Physically, I stay fit through playing basketball. Mentally, spending time with my family revitalizes me. In addition to my love for basketball, I enjoy water sports, music-related activities of all types, and eating lots of food.
