I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was inspired to pursue medicine by the TV show MASH. The surgeon who operated on my knee when I was 21 inspired me to specialize in orthopedics.
At the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I enjoy the collegial group atmosphere, and having the freedom to practice medicine as I see fit. My philosophy of care is to be kind to my patients, and I find that I really enjoy talking to them about their interests.I am currently the chair of the orthopedic purchasing group, and have held that position intermittently for 18 years.
In my free time, I enjoy riding my bike, swimming, reading, and playing golf.
