After growing up in Iowa City and completing my undergraduate work at the University of Iowa, I moved to Philadelphia for medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. After medical school, I spent a year in Boston for my internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I then returned to University of Pennsylvania for my residency. After residency, I spent a few years in practice outside of Philadelphia until my wife's job brought us to Atlanta.
