About Me

Welcome! I am excited and proud to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team as a family medicine physician with a specialty in sports medicine. My colleagues and I are committed to providing you and your family with personalized, high-quality health care.

Biography

I am a native of Seattle, Washington, but spent my formative years in Europe. Upon returning to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I was fortunate enough to have received my medical school training close to home at the University of Washington. After completing my residency locally, I was selected to participate in a Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Fellowship located here in sunny Southern California. My lifelong passion for athletics and fitness has provided me with wonderful opportunities to serve my community in a sports medicine oriented capacity. Currently, I am the sports medicine doctor for the greater Panorama City service area, and I hold regular sports medicine clinics. I enjoy jazz music, basketball, new travel adventures, and international cuisine, but most of all I value spending quality time with my 3 young children, my family, and my extended network of friends.

About my practice

My unique upbringing abroad has been a major influence on my practice style. It has allowed me to celebrate diversity and speak the global language of good health. It is my privilege to serve as a primary care physician to a diverse group of members and provide them with compassionate care they deserve. I spend most of my time in our North Hollywood Medical Offices, where I practice evidence-based medicine with a strong emphasis on preventive care. I also conduct weekly sports medicine clinics there, where I treat a unique set of orthopedic issues and sports-related injuries. Another part of my practice is spent in the Urgent Care Clinic at Panorama City, where I enjoy doing minor surgical procedures and am exposed to a wide variety of challenging health issues affecting members of all ages. I also enjoy volunteering my time as a physician for various local sporting events and have been Medical Director for the Hansen Dam Triathlon for many years.

How I thrive

I am a strong believer in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of thriving and living a healthy lifestyle. As a doctor, I like to set a good example for our members to follow. I have always been active in sports, from playing college basketball to competing in Ironman triathlons. In recent years, despite being a single father and working full-time, I continue to make time to exercise regularly. I have even incorporated daily meditation as part of my overall well-being and I encourage all our members to incorporate these activities, whenever possible, into their busy lives.
