About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I am a general neurologist with special expertise in headache disorders, being entrusted as Headache Management Program coordinator for last several years here at Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center. I treat different types of headaches and facial pains, as well as other neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, stroke, neuropathies, chronic pain, and dizziness.

Biography

I was born and raised in a beautiful town in Romania. As a young child, the apparent magic of a physician's ability to make people healthy again was something I wanted to master. As I grew up and became more educated, I realized that medicine was not magic, but knowledge, skill, and compassion. After high school, I was admitted to medical school and upon graduation continued my training in internal medicine. I have balanced my academic and clinical responsibilities with an active personal life. I married after my third year of medical school and feel extremely blessed to have a great husband and two wonderful boys. I moved to the States and, while doing research in clinical neuroscience at Loma Linda University, I realized that neurology was definitely my passion. I completed my training in neurology in 2005 at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, in a UCLA-affiliated residency program. During my last year of residency, I received special training in headache disorders.

About my practice

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2005 because it offers a team approach to patient care, with medical specialists in different fields working cooperatively to provide the best medical care possible. I believe that the best results are achieved through education, informed decisions, and teamwork between patient and physician. As your neurologist, I strive to provide you with information and guidance regarding your condition so that we can make the best treatment decisions together.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, being involved in church activities, helping those in need, traveling, cooking, and exercising.
