I was born and raised in the Midwest near Chicago, Illinois. I attended college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and moved to Denver, Colorado in 2003 for graduate school. I obtained a bachelor of science in human development and family studies, and obtained a master of social work from the University of Denver. Additionally, I completed four years of post-master’s coursework and supervision in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute. I consider myself very culturally diverse and enjoy learning about and experiencing new cultures and religions.
My specialties include working with individuals, couples and families. I particularly like working with geriatrics who are going through life transitions. Another area I take special interest in is postpartum depression. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care. My goal is to provide the most appropriate care for my patients, so they aren't spending extra time or money to get the care they deserve. I am very mindful and present during the time with clients. I practice in a very honest, non-judgmental, empathic, educated manner.
Finding balance is something I am always striving for. I have two goofy dogs who keep me entertained. I love traveling, eating, spending time with friends, and sleeping. Since moving to Colorado, I have developed an interested in biking and climbing to push myself both mentally and physically.
