About Me

I am a native Georgian, born and raised in Rome, Ga. After completing four years of active duty service in the United States Navy (with tours in Guam, Iraq and Virginia), I returned home the summer of 2013 to start my civilian occupational life with Kaiser Permanente. I chose psychiatry because I find people interesting and like to help my patients create healthy, productive, meaningful lives regardless of current challenges.

About my practice

Our practice in the Behavioral Health Department encompasses individual psychotherapy, medication management, group therapy and intensive outpatient group therapy, including a Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation Program (CDRP). The physicians, clinical nurse specialists (CNS) and therapists work together as a team and practice collaborative care so we can determine the best course of treatment for a given patient.

How I thrive

I thrive by finding a little bit of joy in each day, no matter how mundane or stressful. Fifteen minutes reading my current novel, watching a favorite TV show on the DVR, writing an old friend, making an evening spinning class, appreciating a vibrant sunset - all actions that help center me and provide perspective.
