About Me
I'm from a little coastal town in central California and moved to Oregon in 2005. Becoming a nurse was a great career choice for me. I worked in pediatric critical care and newborn intensive care units before becoming a nurse practitioner, at which time my practice grew to include adults. But my real passion is working with children, and now once again I get to care exclusively for kids of all ages, from newborns to college students.
About my practice
As a family nurse practitioner, my training permits me to care for people of all ages. I have a huge preference for kids though. One special aspect of my practice is caring for newborns in the hospital. I also have an interest in contraception and take great satisfaction in empowering young women and men to make sound and well-informed choices about their bodies and their health.
How I thrive
I have a great family, and I love the time I spend with them. We go on adventures in our canoe, take hikes, go camping, tell stories, and dance. I am an enthusiastic gardener and bird watcher. For fitness, I swim and walk my dog. I love music and play the guitar. I volunteer frequently at my daughter’s elementary school and especially like supervising the playground at recess time. I have great role models, particularly my mom, who has been a teacher for more than 60 years. Though in her early 80s, she's still going strong.
