About Me

I was born in Vietnam and raised in Texas. My husband and I relocated to Oahu when he was offered a job here.I knew that I wanted to become a physician from an early age. During my middle and high school years, I was a hospital student volunteer and was able to rotate through many patient care areas. I was drawn into my specialty by my medical school mentor, an anesthesiologist. I shadowed her during the summers and other school breaks, and this helped crystalize my vision of what I wanted to do in the future.

About my practice

I enjoy the team anesthesia model that we practice at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. I want all my patients to feel reassured that they will have a safe perioperative experience and to know that any concerns about pain will be addressed.During the preoperative interview, I try to elicit any concerns my patients may have about the perioperative period and reassure them that our job is to get them through the surgery safely. Anything I can do make surgery a better experience for them, I will try my best to do. I am a member of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and do a variety of outdoor activities with my two young children.
