About Me

I am glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your surgeon, and I hope this Web page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

I was born in Lagos, Nigeria. I obtained my medical degree from Calcutta University on a government scholarship. I returned to Nigeria briefly before proceeding to the U.S. for surgical training. Following my general surgical training in New York City, I did a cardiothoracic surgical fellowship in Long Island, New York. Given my country of origin, it was natural for me to seek warmer weather for surgical practice, and so I moved to California. I have very much enjoyed working at Kaiser Permanente over the years.

About my practice

My surgical practice has a wide spectrum. Besides general thoracic surgery, which is my main subspecialty, I perform some general surgical procedures in which I am well trained. Making patients comfortable with their surgeon is very important to me, and so I review all of the actual CT scans (not just the reports) and any other special studies with my patients and their families.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's emphasis on a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle. My wife endeavors to make sure that in our family we have a well- balanced, healthy diet. She and I get to the gym at least four times a week. Our family enjoys traveling, and at every opportunity we get, we hike.
