I spent most of my childhood on the southern Oregon coast where I learned to love the outdoors, especially the ocean, beaches, and mountains. I decided to become a physician assistant while working at the University of Washington. I truly love my job and feel privileged to take care of people. I like working with my hands and find cardiac surgery to be a perfect fit.
The department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente works as a team to maximize the health of patients so they can enjoy a full life. We have developed a nationally recognized cardiac surgery program. I work with each team member to ensure our patient experiences are as pleasant, productive, and safe as possible.
I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I sit down with them every night for dinner and we discuss our days. I also like exercising, playing with my children, and cruising in my old convertible. My children and wife and I take our vacations skiing, fishing, and spending time together at the beach. Balancing work and fun is important to me. I try to live by the following: "Live well, laugh hard, love big".
