About Me
I am Dr. Najeeb Khan, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. I focus on treatment of the shoulder, knee, and elbow, and have been a member of the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Orthopedics since 2009.
Biography
I attended medical school and residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, and was fortunate to land at Kaiser Permanente San Diego to complete my orthopedic fellowship in sports medicine. Committed to giving back to this program, I am currently the fellowship program director and have received recognition as Fellowship Teacher of the Year. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with my peers to shape the next generation of sports medicine leaders. I am also a faculty member at the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, help teach primary care and emergency medicine residents, review manuscripts for two major orthopedic journals, and am a fellow with the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
I am originally from Yorba Linda, California, and earned my BS in biological sciences from UC Irvine. I grew up with incredible role models in my family, some of whom are physicians and surgeons. Like them, I find true satisfaction in helping others and a fascination with anatomy, physiology, and mastering surgical techniques.
About my practice
I believe at the core of every successful medical treatment is a partnership between the member and the medical team. My practice philosophy focuses on orthopedic care based on evidence and current research, nonsurgical treatments when possible, and minimally invasive surgical techniques when surgery is required. My goal is to help people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to reach their goals and help them return to full function and activity. I aim to provide high-quality care that is appropriate for each individual member.
How I thrive
I thrive by remaining active in the outdoors. I like to swim, mountain bike, run, ski, surf, camp, and hike. I also love to donate my time and expertise to communities with less access to care, and I have completed several medical mission trips in developing countries. I look forward to working with you!
