San Jose Acupuncture Department offers treatments to patients with a diagnosis of Chronic Pain or for relief of nausea/vomiting associated with chemotherapy.
Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It’s based on the theory that energy, called Qi, flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians. Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances you Qi. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence Qi and help it flow back into balance.
Acupuncture is done by inserting very thin sterile acupuncture needles into the skin/muscle at certain body points to influence the energy flow.
Acupuncture is one procedure you and your provider may consider for treatment of chronic pain. It is important to know that this is only one care modality for chronic pain as part of a more thorough treatment plan. It is not intended to be the sole care modality.

The goal of the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Memory Clinic is to provide our members who have a diagnosis of dementia with the services, resources and support necessary to maintain successful quality of life.
A diagnosis of dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease as well as other types of dementia) can bring feelings of anxiety, fear, and a sense of loss of control to the patient as well as the caregiver and/or family members. The Memory Clinic is here to help you navigate the steps that follow a diagnosis, answer your questions, and provide you with the resources and support necessary to help you know that you do not have to deal with this alone.
How Do I Contact the Memory Clinic?
Your primary care provider will refer you to the Memory Clinic and someone will contact you to schedule you and/or your family members for a class or office visit.
The Memory Clinic team works in collaboration with your primary care provider, who remains in charge of your care.

As neurologists we place great emphasis on a good relationship with our patients. We aim to educate our patients about their neurologic conditions. In addition to our careful interview and examination, sometimes we need to use radiologic, blood, electrodiagnostic, spinal tap, sleep, or other tests, to determine if a neurologic condition exists. We will educate our patients on best treatment options and will work with you and your primary care providers towards the highest level of neurologic care for you.
Our patients have had high praises for our headache clinic. If you have been scheduled for EMG/NCS testing, please avoid lotions/creams on your arms and legs on the day of your test. Please come 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow time needed to complete any paperwork.

Welcome to the home page of the Adult Division in the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center.
Our department offers best-practice, evidence-based treatments to help you feel better if you are troubled by psychological symptoms. These treatments range from therapy groups and classes to individual therapy, to medication management under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
There are many scientifically proven ways to promote improved mental health that do not include medications or therapy. These approaches involve taking better care of yourself by getting quality sleep, exercising (you may want to consult your primary care physician before starting an exercise program), eating well, quitting smoking if you smoke, and avoiding excessive alcohol, caffeine, or harmful drugs.

Emergency and urgent care
The Emergency Department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose is a 25 bed, level one, basic emergency department providing care to a variety of patients with minor to acute injuries and medical illnesses.
All patients upon arrival will receive a medical screening exam and disposition to appropriate care. We strive to provide quality and timely care to all our patients.
Some of the features and technology of the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center Emergency Department:
More private patient treatment rooms than the traditional curtain-separated rooms in most emergency facilities.
Computer monitors in each room to allow physicians and nurses faster access to medical information, such as lab test
Private triage rooms for patients and family members.
Continuous cardiac and vitals monitoring in all treatment rooms.
A negative pressure room with an “anteroom” to prevent the spread of contagious disease.
A pneumatic tube system that speeds up the transportation of lab specimens.
An environmentally safe system that flushes waste away and biodegradable bedpans.
A designated security station with security monitors, cameras and card reader access to the main emergency department.
