Angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs) are a type of medicine that relaxes blood vessels and lowers your blood pressure. It makes it easier for blood to flow through the vessels. It can make it easier for your heart to pump blood.
This medicine may be used to treat heart failure. It may help reduce your symptoms and lower the risk of serious problems that would need to be treated in the hospital.

An example of an ARNI is sacubitril with valsartan (Entresto).
Possible side effects
All medicines can cause side effects.
Side effects of ARNI medicines include:
Feeling lightheaded or dizzy.
Low blood pressure. You may feel dizzy and weak.
High potassium levels.
Cough.
Kidney problems.
Swelling of your lips, tongue, or face. Rarely, swelling becomes severe and makes it hard to breathe. In this case, you may need treatment right away.

What to know about taking this medicine

Taking some medicines together can cause problems. Tell your doctor or pharmacist all the medicines you take. This includes other prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies.
You may need regular blood and urine tests to see if the medicines are causing any problems.
