Fertility drugs can be used to stimulate the ovaries to release eggs (ovulate). Or they may be used to help stimulate sperm production. Use of fertility drugs increases the risk that more than one egg will be produced and be fertilized by sperm, leading to a high-risk multiple pregnancy.
