Medication name

Generic name:
Adamts13, recombinant - injection

Brand name(s)
Adzynma

Uses

This medication is used to treat a certain blood disorder (congenital thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura-cTTP). People with cTTP do not have enough of a certain enzyme (ADAMTS13) in the blood, so blood clots form in small blood vessels throughout the body. These clots can cause serious medical problems if they block vessels and limit or stop blood flow to organs such as the brain, kidneys, and heart. ADAMTS13 works by causing your body to make fewer/smaller blood clots.

How to use

Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start using ADAMTS13 and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

This medication is given by slow injection into a vein by a health care professional. The dosage and treatment schedule are based on your medical condition, weight, and response to treatment.

To get the most benefit from this medication, carefully follow your doctor's treatment schedule. To help you remember, mark your calendar with a reminder.

Tell your doctor if your condition does not get better or if it gets worse.
