Where I practice
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Because I love science and helping people, a career in medicine seemed like a natural fit for me. In my specialty, it is particularly gratifying when I can help patients and their families through illness and sometimes very difficult medical decision making. After completing my medical degree at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, I did my internship and residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. I completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and a fellowship in advanced geriatrics at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle.
About my practice
I love the camaraderie at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. I feel very comfortable discussing patient issues with other physicians and working together with the common goal of providing high quality medical care. When I need help, there is always support that I can count on.My goal is to work closely with patients and their families to provide the best care possible. Everyone has a story to tell and I really enjoy hearing my patients’ stories, past and present, which helps me to understand them as a whole person.I am a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society. I also serve as Clinical Assistant Professor in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
How I thrive
I like to go on long walks for exercise. I also enjoy laughing, cooking, eating, traveling, and spending time with my family.
