Your developing baby – week 21

At week 21, your baby is around 11 inches long, weighs 11 ounces, and is about the size of an pomegranate.

As they continue to grow, they’ll have less room to move around.

Although it might not feel like it, your baby sleeps long hours, about 12 to 14 hours per day. Try to catch some extra sleep when you can because your body is working hard growing your baby.

As of this week, your baby has taste buds and can swallow. Did you know babies swallow a small amount of amniotic fluid for the nutrients it provides? Your baby still receives most of their nutrients from the placenta.
