About me
As the youngest of three children, I observed my physician father and nurse mother operate a 100-bed nursing home facility in Lexington, Ky. I witnessed, firsthand, the many fascinating aspects of geriatric and acute care, not to mention the inner workings of a successful business operation. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky and later attended the University of Louisville Medical School. I moved to Atlanta to do an internship in internal medicine with Emory University and then a residency in internal medicine at Georgia Baptist Hospital. The highlight of my residency was receiving the Outstanding Resident Award during my final year of training. Atlanta has been a wonderful place to raise children and practice medicine. After over two decades, I consider this my second home.
About my practice
Internal medicine is an intriguing specialty and has provided me a wonderful opportunity to reduce health care disparities in various patient populations. I have a special interest in women's health care issues and diabetic care. I encourage our members to engage, participate and take ownership of their health care. I welcome and value their input. Medicine should be a team approach with the patient being the focus and center of the team.
How I thrive
My children are the true joys of my life. In my spare time, I focus on spending time with them, walking my dogs, exercising, attending church, sewing and participating with a local mothers' group.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
