Tushar N. Suthar, MD
I speak: English
My gender: Male
Where I practice
As a Georgia native, I grew up outside of Augusta and eventually moved to Atlanta to study at Georgia Tech. When I was not cheering on the Yellow Jackets at sporting events, I was studying biomedical engineering. After graduation, I was able to spend time at the Medical College of Georgia in the Department of Ophthalmology researching new ways to treat vision loss. It was there that I continued to develop my passion for medicine and ophthalmology. After I finished my medical school and residency in New York, I did a medical retina fellowship at Duke University. I feel very fortunate to be able to return to Atlanta and provide care to patients in this growing and dynamic city.
About my practice
My training in residency and fellowship has allowed me to focus on using cutting edge, office-based treatments for retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy. My goal is to work with you and your other doctors at Kaiser Permanente to not only treat your eyes, but also treat you as a whole person.
How I thrive
If we still have enough energy after chasing our kids around the house, my wife and I like to travel and spend time outdoors. I also enjoy playing basketball. I have been an active member in our Georgia Society of Ophthalmology in making sure patients continue to have access to safe, quality health care across our great state.
