Tony K. Addington, MD
I speak: English
My gender: Male
Where I practice
I am a native Georgian and have lived my entire life somewhere within its borders. My childhood was spent in the north Georgia mountains, where I lost many a fishing hook trying to catch trout in the local creeks. Being the eldest grandchild provided opportunities to babysit my younger siblings and cousins, which I believe ultimately helped lead me into pediatrics. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 1997. I spent the following seven years in Augusta at the Medical College of Georgia for medical school and residency. I subsequently moved to Tifton, Ga. and lived there for eight years working in a private practice. After the birth of our two children, my wife and I decided to relocate to the Athens area to be closer to family.
About my practice
I am a pediatrician, treating patients from birth to 22 years. My primary office location is in Athens, Ga. In addition to routine pediatric illnesses, I have extensive experience treating ADHD and asthma.
How I thrive
I spend all the time I can with my wife and two children. Whether it is running errands, lounging around the house or going to the movies, beach or Disney World, I am most content while with them. My other hobbies and interests include watching college and professional football (Go Dawgs!), fishing and following the stock market.
