Where I practice
I was born in Nigeria, and I have three children. Growing up, there was poverty and disease in Nigeria, and it caused me to have the desire to want to help people. I also had many role models in medicine back home, and these two factors made me want to become a doctor. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006 because I believe in our health care mission. I love working for Kaiser Permanente and am proud to work with a great group of health care providers!
About my practice
I am a nephrologist, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team, we see members with chronic kidney disease, as well as members with hypertension (high blood pressure) that is difficult to control. I find it very valuable to work with our members in a caring way, through education and support. This approach to patient care makes for a better understanding of healthy living and disease control.
How I thrive
I walk for at least an hour several days a week. I really enjoy traveling, reading and going to plays and shows. Nothing beats a day of massages and personal pampering though! I also participate in volunteer work in Nigeria and Ghana.
