Where I practice
I am originally from the Philippines, and I graduated from medical school at the age of 23. After graduation, I worked for a local non-profit organization in the field of public health, focusing on HIV prevention among marginalized and at-risk individuals. I decided to come to the U.S. two years later to pursue residency training in internal medicine. While in my residency, I fell in love with the field of infectious diseases, which allows me the opportunity to pursue my interest in public health. I worked for a non-profit in Florida for 13 years by running a medical clinic, seeing patients and participating in various clinical trials. I was then in private practice for four years doing hospital and clinic consults. I am now happy to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team!
About my practice
The Department of Infectious Diseases at Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful group of compassionate, hard-working, dedicated and smart providers. I am privileged to work with such an excellent team. We provide both in-patient and clinic care at different sites in the greater Atlanta area. We have a dedicated pharmacist who provides additional medication-specific advice to our members. Our support staff is warm and caring, and works hard to meet the needs of our members.
How I thrive
I love art, architecture, travel, food and learning about different cultures. I love conversing with patients. I believe that medical care is truly a science and an art. I think it is important for everyone to feel cared for. I like to know my patients and make a positive difference in their lives.
