About me
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ga. and moved to Atlanta for college. Even though medical school and residency took me away to the Midwest for several years, I wanted to come back to Atlanta to practice. I will always consider it home.
I wanted to be a doctor since I was five years old. My family even has a picture of me playing with a toy stethoscope that I got for Christmas that year. With the support of my family, I have always been very determined to follow my dreams.
About my practice
I am very passionate about preventive medicine. I feel the best way to treat patients is to keep them well. There is so much we as clinicians can do to empower our patients to play an active role in the care. Sometimes it is as simple as taking that extra moment to explain a medical condition or to break down why several chronic diseases are linked to each other. Many times, when patients have a better understanding of their diagnoses, they do better, and that builds a very trusting relationship.
In addition to our adult members, I am so happy that I also get to see our pediatric members in Kaiser Permanente. I just love kids! They have a funny way of bringing me into their world and making complex things seem very simple.
How I thrive
I wholeheartedly believe that there always needs to be balance when it comes to work and life. I maintain this balance a variety of ways, most importantly with my faith. It always keeps me grounded. I am very close with my family and I love spending time with them and my dog, Sherlock.
In my free time, I love to travel. I want to visit all seven continents and I only have three more to go! I also love going to the spa, reading a great book, trying the latest and newest restaurants around town, listening to live music, and attending the many festivals and events Atlanta has to offer.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
